Welcome to the 1920's where bathtubs were made for one thing only. To make gin! (Ok, maybe two things.) Lots of Gangsters are showing up at "Cherry's Speakeasy" to talk about the turf war going on between the Corneolis and the Buttafucos. Just when we think things are going to settle down, in comes Harry Hyde, (the famous Russian mobster.) He sure does know how to make enemies! Deadly ones!I guess the local constable, Doyle Lonnegan, will come and solve the crime, but not before things get pretty wild! You'll meet crazy characters like Red E. Mix (the concrete salesman), Trixie (the owner of Cherry's) and many others before we find out who put "da finger" on Harry's Hyde! Was it Larry, The Rug? Was it Joey, The Lips? Or maybe J Edna Hoover?
Join us for "Bullets In The Bathtub" and don't forget to wear your zoot suit, gangster hat or flapper for added fun!

A Table For 1 With Two Glasses.

Its not an uncommon thing at Little Hills Winery to see Karen Sue sitting alone on a Friday evening with a bottle of Gewurtztraminer, a book and an empty glass on the opposite side of the table. You see, Karen used to come to the winery with her mother, Cindy, and share a bottle of "Gewurtz". Some Saturdays they would even come in and have a meal and some wine, then go do some shopping on Main Street together and come back and finish the day at Little Hills. Unfortunately, Cindy passed away unexpectedly this past winter. Now Karen comes to the winery to honor her mom and remember the enjoyable times they had together. Its always heartwarming to have Karen visit us and be a witness to the way she remembers and honors her mother. Cheers to you Karen and Cindy.

Red Hats Visit Little Hills

Evelyn Clark and the rest of the Sassy Crimson Charmers, the chapter from the Red Hat Society from St. Charles Missouri, enjoyed a pleasant lunch at Little Hills Winery on Saturday, March 14Th. They came and lit up the place with their trademark red hats and bright smiles. It was a pleasure having them join us on Saturday. Ms. Clark even shared with me a "trading card" with her picture and information about her and their chapter. She is known as the "Sparkling Queen Mum" in her chapter. On the back of Ms. Clark's card she had two quotes, "The break you get is the break you take." and "Grow old outrageously." I am not sure where the quotes originated, but i do think they are both great pearls of wisdom for us all. Come see us again ladies!
Cheers!

Sting To Produce Wine from Italy

Mar 12, 1:38 PM (ET)

ROME (AP) - After singing of "Fields of Gold," British rock star Sting is tending fields of grapes as he prepares to market red wine made at his country estate in Tuscany.

Some 30,000 bottles of wine produced on the property will go on sale in September, mainly in Britain and the United States, Paolo Rossi, the estate's manager, said Thursday.

In 1997 the former Police frontman purchased a 16th-century villa, called Il Palagio, in Figline Valdarno, a small village some 19 miles (30 kilometers) south of Florence.

Over the years he has turned the surrounding 860 acres (350 hectares) into an organic farm that also produces honey, olive oil, fruit, vegetables and Tuscan salami.

"When I came here to Figline I wanted first of all to feed my family," Sting said on Tuesday during an event at the village where the 57-year-old star spoke of the time he spends at Il Palagio.

"I also wanted to use agriculture with practices that would nourish the land and not deplete the land and so we went to traditional methods with farming, we got rid of pesticides, we shunned monoculture, and it works, the farm is also a garden," he said in the remarks broadcast by local television Rtv38.

Rossi did not reveal the name of the upcoming wine. He said it will be a 2007 vintage based on the Sangiovese grape, with a touch of Cabernet and Merlot.

A 2008 Chianti could also go on sale in the fall, but tests on the wine's aging must be conducted before a decision is made, Rossi told The Associated Press by telephone.

The wine, along with other products made on the Sting farm, will also be available at a shop on the property that the singer will inaugurate by June, Rossi said.
